FDI plays a large role in developing South Africa’s economy - DTI

Foreign Director Investment (FDI) from the developing world predominantly goes to South Africa, North Africa and oil-exporting countries. As one of the faster growing regions Africa experienced a significant growth in Greenfield FDI in 2014. This was said by Timothy Dladla, the Director of Economic Research and Policy Coordination at the Department of Trade and Industry (the DTI.) He was speaking seminar hosted by the department on the State of FDI in South Africa.


South African companies identify more trade opportunities in Lubumbashi

South African companies taking part in the Investment and Trade Initiative (ITI) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have identified several business opportunities in the different sectors, in Lubumbashi. The companies have been in the DRC since last Sunday and have participated in the business seminars, business to business meetings, mini exhibitions, sector round tables as well as visits to the different sites.


Graaff Reinet aquaculture plant expands

The Blue Karoo Trust (BKT) freshwater aquaculture facility in Graaff Reinet has started a R23,5m construction project that includes three additional ponds, a commercial scale hatchery and a pre-processing line. This is a pre-cursor to building a processing facility, which will make it one of the biggest aquaculture investments in South Africa to date.
