Engen fuels “transporting hope in a tanker”

South Africa is in the throes of a water crisis as it faces drought and water scarcity across the country. Committed to assisting the drought-stricken area of Vryheid in KwaZulu-Natal, Engen Petroleum has joined forces with Cargo Carriers, Oasis Water and Water Shortage South Africa (#WSSA 2016) to help supply water to the Klipfontein Water Treatment Plant in Vryheid.


NWK announces drought aid options for producers

NWK is implementing several actions to try and reduce the impact of the drought and help ensure the sustainability of producers. Possible additional options for supporting producers – like postponing production debt and/or the consolidation of producer debt – are also on the radar.


It’s a seller’s market for Cape wine farmers

Cape wine farmers are expecting a much lower yield this year due to the extremely hot and dry conditions in the region, Francois Viljoen of VinPro told industry stakeholders on Thursday at the Nedbank VinPro information day held at the CTICC. However, the smaller, more concentrated grapes do promise excellent quality wines.
