Accountability Group

Your gateway to safer business

Accountability was started as a result of business owner, Wendy Kemp, becoming increasingly frustrated with regards to non-payment from clients while running numerous small businesses with her husband. After failing to recover a substantial amount from a client, she realised that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in South Africa were increasingly facing this challenge and that business owners were becoming hesitant to accept new business with the ever-increasing risk of non-payment.

As a result of these frustrations, Wendy conceptualised and started a web-based service which assists and "protects" businesses through reducing the risk caused by outstanding payments. Accountability does this by granting members access to affordable facilities which allow them to pre-credit check prospective clients, assist with collections and provides an updated list of default payers as per the credit bureau. Accountability also offers clients added value products, such as legal assistance, ID verifications and Business Debtor Monitoring.

Wendy has managed to create a niche and affordable product which is deemed essential in the current challenging economic environment. As a business, Accountability is able to support the sometimes struggling SMEs sector to survive, as well as offer significant support to the community via corporate citizen practices.
