New inverters and welding torches for the SA market

AUGUSTA Tool Suppliers are proud to announce the arrival in South Africa of the Smarter Inverter range and Translas MIG and TIG welding torches. Augusta Tools are excited to hold the exclusive

distributorship for these products in South Africa. Cape Business News caught up with Vivian George of Augusta Tool Suppliers, as well as with Smarter Tools representative, Fernando Amaral and Eric J. Boer, Director of Translas BV to discuss the South African launch of these products.

The high quality Smarter Inverters includes Smarter Tools for  industry and household use, and Smarter Itech range which comes with a full 3-year warranty, for the professional market. Smarter Tools are based in China, with offices in the US, Brazil and Africa.

Amaral says that the company is excited to be exporting its products into Africa, and sees it as a huge growth market. “South Africa was a natural step as we had excellent data on the South African market … the South African market is huge and as long as the politics remain stable, this is an excellent place to do business,” concludes Amaral.

But as Translas Eric Boer wryly points out, you cannot weld without a torch. Translas is a Dutch company, with 60 years experience, and a huge global footprint. The company exports to over 40 countries, and boasts full EU compliance on all its products.

The MIG 450 – 550 welding torches have been designed and manufactured in-house, by Translas, to ensure compliance to the strictest EU standards, and the company holds the patent. The torches are designed with durability and comfort in mind, for intensive use in everyday welding.

The TIG TMC is also designed and manufactured by Translas, who likewise hold the patent. The TIG welding system offers a precise weld for a multitude of metals, and is especially suited for thinner metals and applications.

The management of both Smarter and Translas felt that Augusta Tool Suppliers was the natural choice to partner with, listing Augusta’s innovative approach, focus on quality and service, and market knowledge as attributes that were non-negotiable in the choice of South African distributor.

These products are all available nationwide through Augusta Tools extensive wholesale distributor network.

Aftersales service is always a priority; therefore the company also boasts a network of repair centres across the country.
