Eskom can afford a 12% wage increase, NUM asserts

Power utility Eskom could afford to grant a 12% increase in the current wage negotiations, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said on Monday.  The NUM and the National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) have demanded a one-year agreement with wage increases of 12% across the board and a housing allowance of R1,000.
