National bus strike finally over

Commuters throughout the country will breathe a sigh of relief today, after news that the national bus strike has finally ended. An announcement made a short while ago by unions ended the strike action which lasted almost a month.

Global and national energy experts prepare to attend the annual Africa Energy Indaba 2017 following #AfricaAtDavos. World Economic Forum followers of 2017 reported that this year’s event saw a shift in the way Africa was perceived at Davos.  Discussions were particularly focused on opportunities for business and investment and African business leaders made their voices heard.  The popularity of the #AfricaAtDavos was testament to world leaders having to recognise Africa and its business agenda on the world stage.

Renewable energy projects deliver power to Eskom REIPPP initiatives

Standard Bank has been instrumental in funding more than 940MW of renewable energy as part of Eskom’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPP) initiated by government. Of these projects, three were connected to the Eskom grid in 2013 bringing 121.5MW of renewable energy production to the national grid. This is enough to power over 65,000 homes.
