Tesla expresses interest in SA

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies has encouraged Tesla Company to work with his department and the South African government to explore the possibility of setting up the manufacturing of Tesla products in South Africa. The company has expressed the interest of investing in South Africa during a Business Breakfast session in Washington, DC in the United States where Davies was addressing investors. The minister focussed on priorities and interventions for putting South Africa’s economy on a new growth path and on investment and infrastructure opportunities.

Western Cape wine companies to expand to Mozambique

Three Western Cape wine companies are on a mission to increase the volumes of the South African wine exports to Mozambique. Thandi Wines, La Rid Mal and Bayede Marketing are part of the 25 businesses that will be showcasing their products and services at the the Maputo International Trade Fair, commonly known as FACIM, which is currently taking place (from 29 August - 4 September 2016.)

Minister Rob Davies launches initiative to support trade in Africa

According to www.gov.co.za The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies will launch Trade Africa (formerly known as the Africa Export Council), a unit established within the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) to promote South Africa’s trade relations with the African continent. The initiative will be launched together with the Guidelines for Good Business Practice by South African Companies operating in the rest of Africa, at a Roundtable Discussion on Intra-Africa Trade. The discussion will take place at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria on Friday, 15 July 2016.
