The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) will resume working on 25km of the N2 between Gouritzmouth and Mossel Bay this week.
The contractor Road Mac Surfacing (RMS) will complete the work that was left incomplete when the previous contractor Vusela Construction went into liquidation. RMS will commence with seal work this week and will endeavour to complete the seal work before the end of April 2014. However, if the weather conditions are not favourable the seal work may continue until mid-May 2014. The ancillary work would possibly continue up to mid June 2014.
Road users travelling along this section of road need to be aware that there will be 24 hour STOP/GO's closures in operation during this period. Because of the limited time the contractor has to complete the outstanding seal work before the winter it is possible that at times up to three closures may be in operation which may cause significant delays in the travel time. In addition the contractor may have to work on weekends and public holidays should the need arise. We appeal to the public for their understanding and patience whilst the construction work is in progress during this period.
SANRAL urges road users to adhere to all road signage on this section of the road and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
