Credit Card Processing - Call Centres

Finextra reports that UK call centres are putting customer credit card details at risk by storing credit card details for credit card processing at a later date in contravention of PCI credit card storage requirements. Secure credit card processing is an imperative for credit card merchants. They say that the centres are creating a vast reservoir of sensitive credit card processing data that could be exploited by hackers. Many of the call centres quoted do not mask stored credit card details, which sounds impossible in the case of voice-stored credit card details. As a payment gateway, PayGate has embarked on PCI certification regarding storage of credit card details for credit card processing. PayGate payment gateway's product PaySubs for example stores credit card details securely on the PayGate system for automated credit card processing ie debit order by credit card. Finextra says that clause 3.2.2 of the PCI Data Security Standard says: "Do not store the card verification code or value (three-digit or four-digit number printed on the front or back of a payment card) used to verify card-not-present transactions." Apparently only 39% of respondents are aware of industry guidelines that stipulate that call centres must not store credit and debit card information once a transaction is complete. It is imperative that merchants choose a payment gateway for their credit card processing who will conservatively and reliably handle their credit card processing securely. PayGate was one of the first ever payment gateways for credit card processing in Africa. PayGate has over ten year's experience and a team of highly qualified payment solution architects and developers. PayGate payment gateway is your most cost-effective and reliable choice for your credit card processing, having safely processed up to 1.5 billion rands worth of online credit card transactions a year.
