EDITOR'S LETTER
Welcome to August 2012
With Women's Day coming up on Thursday 9 August we thought it would be an opportune time to introduce you to Jacqui Beck, a fieldworker from the Haven Night Shelter. She works closely with the GP/OKCID to help homeless people and victims of abuse to improve their circumstances, find employment and get medical assistance. If you want to reach out to women in your area this Women's Day please remember to give responsibly - give your time, food, clothing or a shelter passport rather than money.
We have lots of other interesting news to share with you this month, including several MyCiTi updates. We attended the MyCiTi info session for Kloof Street and Surrounds on 25 July and were impressed by the professionalism and attention to detail conveyed by all members of the City and their team of professionals working on the project.
There are also several reviews of new businesses and restaurants for you to read. If you're a fan of Mexican food then San Juan on Rose Street is a must-try; and if fashion is more your thing then head over to Stefania Morland's new boutique on Kloof Street for some high quality, unique and dramatic additions to your wardrobe.
Best wishes,
Marc Truss
GP/OKCID CEO
