Dear Readers As we fast approach the year's end, we tend to rush about trying to juggle the many balls that we have in the air. To multi-task takes great insight, commitment and strength from within - but hindered by the ever-changing world of today, we do become ratty. And patience? Well, let's just call that a game of cards! If we start preparing now for the end of the year, irrespective of whether we are looking forward to a long-awaited holiday, a working period, joining the festivities, getting re-acquainted with family and friends or just surviving the 'silly season', we need to prioritise in order to accomplish the tasks that need doing first. Maybe the car or the garden needs a service, or there are a couple of handyman chores needed around the house, or there's even a dreaded visit to the in-laws that can't be delayed any longer. If we start doing one task at a time, and break each task down into manageable chunks, when December arrives all will be in order and we can take time out to 'smell the roses'. It is just too easy to put off tasks that if addressed earlier, would never be as bad as they seem later on! Best wishes, Marc Truss Meet Neave Kannemeyer Neave Kannemeyer is the new addition to our team of dedicated personnel that is directly involved with operational issues in Green Point and Oranje-Kloof. What does being the Operations Manager for the Green Point and Oranje-Kloof CID entail? Being the Ops Manager for both CID's entails looking after the logistics function, ensuring that G4S has the correct number of staff members to provide an efficient security service, that we have a high calibre individual, that all the staff members have been trained sufficiently in all the areas in order to perform their job functions and ensuring that we are able to provide a support base to the Metro Police, Cape Town Traffic inclusive of Law Enforcement and SAPS at all times. The above is achieved through a daily consultation with Marc Truss (Head of Operations) and the team of CID security personnel, headed up by Marius Swanepoel. read more back to top SNIPPETS Sea Point Annual Golf Day The third annual Sea Point Golf Day was hosted by the Community Police Forum (CPF) at the King David Golf Club on Friday, 19 October.
