CID UPDATE
This month we have much to be grateful for. We celebrate the women of our nation and in our Mother City - dedicated, passionate and courageous women making a difference in whatever sphere they find themselves.
We recently celebrated GP CID's seven years of existence and success with our friends and strategic partners during an intimate birthday celebration. We see exciting new businesses enter our boundaries and adding value to our area. And as the days become warmer and the flowers start to blossom we celebrate the start of a new season; Spring.
However, it would be wise in our time of celebration to remember and appreciate the selfless efforts of the many men and women in uniform who play a vital role in achieving and fostering the very things that we are celebrating. With the devastating news of the death of friend and colleague, Police Inspector Tinus Nell still fresh in our minds, we are reminded of the fatal dangers faced by these brave officers every day - mothers, wives, fathers and husbands.
I urge you however, to not only sympathise and further complain about the crime in our country that causes these fatalities, but to allow our sympathies to translate into action. Make up your mind to start respecting and acknowledging the service offered by the men and women in the Police service.
