Accelerating Cape Town towards becoming a global hub of Innovation and Creativity

During the past few months Accelerate Cape Town has held a series of meetings with business and public sector leaders and other stakeholders with whom we will collaborate on projects to help develop the Cape as a global hub of innovation and creativity.  Planned future projects include efforts to improve the visitor experience, helping position the Cape as a Creative IT hub, and developing the Cape as a global innovation hub for Alternative Energy.    There is recognition that to make significant economic progress, we have a job to do to get the people of Cape Town to work together more closely.  As a result a series of Dialogue Sessions is planned, in which people from all walks of Cape life will be brought together to work on establishing our common identity and a common vision.  This project is being put together in association with the SA Ubuntu Foundation.  We are also working towards establishing an International Business Club, which will act as a medium to enable international visitors to meet and interact with local business people so that they can develop ideas around business development and joint investments.  This is a concept that has worked very well in other cities around the world, especially around the time of major international events. Issued by: Linton Rensburg  http://www.acceleratecapetown.com/node/406
