DEPUTY MAYOR TO WELCOME COMPETITORS IN THE HOT ROD WORLD CUP
Cape Town is to host the first leg of the 2008 Hot Rod World Cup which kicks off at the Killarney race course on Saturday.
Saturday’s event features two heats and a final between selected South African drivers against 15 hot rod racers from Eire, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. Further races will take place in Polokwane and Pretoria.
The programme will be interspersed with support races from other classes registered with the Cape Hell Drivers, as well as the spectacular Rolling Thunder Show Crash and Gash Bangers.
Executive Deputy Mayor Grant Haskin will welcome the competitors on Friday, 11 January on behalf of the City of Cape Town.
