In keeping with its industry leading innovation and accurate health assessment in terms of corporate and private clients, in 2008 Discovery hired 250 HIV trained nurses from Nursing Services of South Africa (NSSA) in order to offer clients Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) for HIV/AIDS related illnesses.
Individual clients and employees of companies under the Discovery Vitality Wellpoint system will have access to the nurses who are screened on the basis of training as well as counselling criteria, meaning that clients will be treated by a nurse conscious of the sensitivity and confidentiality of such a result.
