According to David Jackson of The Times, businesses should be smart and use the recession to brush up on their management training skills. "Brushing up on and enhancing skills in anticipation of an economic upturn is becoming a global trend as retrenched and unemployed people seek to make the most of unexpected adversity." Jackson says it is not yet clear to what extent this trend has taken off in South Africa, but that applications for management training has definitely increased.
