This Leadership & Management Training programme has a definite practical approach. Experiential learning activities will be used to support the theory of Leadership & Management Training.  Throughout the programme emphasis is placed on continuous self-evaluation and critically looking at success factors within own departments and areas of responsibility. Participants are equipped with practical skills and knowledge to understand the principles of both personal and situational leadership. Skills are acquired to assist in areas such as time management, delegation, resource management and strategic thinking. Improvement in communication and how to implement at the acquired skills and knowledge in the workplace.

Leadership & Management Training Programme Aims
   
To equip the participants with practical skills and knowledge to understand the principles of both personal and situational leadership

To acquire tools which will assist in areas such as time management, delegation, resource management and strategic thinking

To significantly improve the communication skills abilities of all participants

To implement the acquired skills and knowledge in the workplace. By doing this they will become confident leaders who will be able to support management to achieve the goals of the organization.

The main focus will be: HARD on standards, but SOFT on people.



Programme Content

Module One – Personal Leadership

1. Introduction:  Managing Change

Focusing on how the role of the manager has changed over the years
The ability to manage and work through change is probably one of the most important attributes any individual can possess at present. We will also discuss the most effective ways to implement change.


2.  Managing Mind and Body
The only difference in people is the way they think. We explore effective ways of enhancing performance through “mind management” Sustained levels of energy are vital to peak performance in the workplace; we discuss practical ways of improving physiological outputs.

3. Attitude
Emphasis is put on how attitude affects areas such as time   management, communication, procrastination, relationships and other areas common to everyday life.  Changing mental models about life, work and relationships

4. Leadership Styles
Understanding your leadership style and how and when to make the necessary adjustments in order to get maximum co-operation.

Module two – Situational Leadership

Understanding Leadership
               
E.Q. Emotional intelligence.  What is it and what role does this play in business? Relationships : managing different situations
Conflict
Men versus women
Leading vs. managing
Surrounding yourself with a strong leadership team – how and why?

Task Leadership   
Planning (Time management)
setting priorities / targets to be achieved
using diaries effectively
setting goals with the team
Strategic Thinking
The difference between Operations and Strategy
How to balance Strategy and Operational issues in the workplace
How to put together a practical Strategic Plan
How to ensure that the plan works

Leadership & Management Training Training Methodology
This programme has a definite practical approach. Experiential learning activities will be used to support the theory.
Throughout the programme emphasis is placed on continuous self-evaluation and critically looking at success factors within own departments and areas of responsibility

Evaluation
An overall assignment is given to each individual which will focus on:
Improving productivity and motivating people within their departments.
They will present these plans during module 4

  
Duration
3 days with a half day reinforcement follow up session 4 weeks after completion of the initial Leadership & Management Training programme. Free telephone interventions are available to all delegates who complete the programme.

             
Leadership & Management Training requires a minimum of 10 and a Maximum of 12 participants.


Delegates will receive a starter kit, manuals, free e-books and handouts

Our commitment to the group will be to support them and be available for advice, even after their leadership and management training program has been completed.
