Pakistan's Umar Akmal was found not guilty for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during his side's ICC Champions Trophy 2009 semi-final against New Zealand at The Wanderers on Saturday, the ICC have said.

The hearing led by ex-Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath, now on the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.

Umar Akmal was cleared after plaeading not guilty, Srinath believe Akmals reaction to being given out was more out of dissapointment than disrespect to the umpire.

The charge was brought by third umpire Daryl Harper, fourth umpire Steve Davis as well as on-field umpires Simon Taufel and Ian Gould.

Mr Srinath reached his conclusion after a hearing attended by the umpires, the player in question and Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam. For Level 1 breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct the ICC match referee's decision is final and binding.

In other discplinary news for the Pakistan team, Captain Younus Khan is under investigation by the ICC's anti-corruption unit for suspected match fixing, after he dropped what seemed a relatively simple catch that changed the game. The Pakistani captain claimed it was his attempts to protect an injured finger that caused him to drop the catch.

Kahn dropped Grant Elliot on 42* when the match was very evenly poised. Elliot went on to make 75* and arguably win the game for his team.

It remains to be seen what will come of the investigation into the incident.
