Interact Outings Report

On the 6th of March we visited Cheshire Homes in Milnerton. It's a home for quadriplegics and paraplegics. We interacted over tea and cake, and were once again humbled by their incredibly positive spirit and gratitude for our visit. The month of March is Cancer Awareness Month and on Saturday the 7th of March, a few of the interact members took part in the Cancer Shavathon at Canal Walk. We had fun as we were shaving and spray painting people's hair with multi colours. We found pleasure in helping out in a country wide event. On the 11th of March, we went to visit an old age home, Huis Ysterplaat along with our very own talented musicians organised and accompanied by Mrs du Pisanie and Ms Niemand -who were willing to sacrifice their Wednesday to entertain the elderly. We enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful experience speaking to the elderly, overall it was an experience we won't forget. On Wednesday the 18th of March, we went to Melkbos Care Centre to deliver some of our Easter eggs. Here they look after 32 underprivileged children by providing meals, supervised tuition and holiday entertainment. The rest of the eggs will be given to TLC – the Table View organisation that looks after our street children. We would like to thank everyone for contributing in some or other way to bless those less fortunate than us.
Interacters handed over the R20 000 cheque - raised from Christmas wrapping - to Carol Mowatt from St. Luke's Hospice West Coast.
