According to the John Ord of the Sports Event Association of South Africa there has been a marked increase in the use of black shadenet for events where black scaffolding shadenet is used to neatly cover scaffolding towers at sports events such as the IPL, Super 14 Rugby, J&B Met, A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport, Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, ODI games, Comrades, Vodacom Durban July, Springboks British Lions Tour, Pick ‘n Pay 94.7 Cycle Race, the Knysna Oyster Festival and a number of other sports events throughout south Africa.
Robin Philip, General Manager of Printed Shadenet Solutions says that they have specifically made up stock of fence height black 80% shadenet to address the demand for black shadenet for events in South Africa. "Event organisers are realising how cheap and effective it is to neatly cover scaffolding towers with shadenet. Temporary shadenet structures are commonplace at sports events in South Africa and because it is black, it is invisible to attending spectators and not a distraction to participants."
The black shadenet comes in fence-height 1.8m x 50m rolls with sewn eyelets top and bottom for easy fixing to temporary event fencing or event scaffolding. It can also be supplied in 3m widths for maximum coverage.
