Health-savvy kids are rewarded by Ster-Kinekor with free movies for a year!
Ster-Kinekor Theatres and Discovery Vitality have teamed up to reward health-savvy kids with a year’s free entrance to the movies.
As part of a range of new kids’ wellness initiatives developed by Discovery, children – who belong to Vitality and are aged between two and 15 years – qualify to watch free movies before 7pm at any
Ster-Kinekor Theatres nationwide.
All they have to do is have an annual Vitality Child Health Assessment at a GP in Discovery’s network or with their paediatrician, or go for a dental check-up.
According to Dr Craig Nossel, head of Vitality Wellness, the initiative aims to have a positive effect on the health of South African families:
“We all know that healthy habits start in childhood, so by promoting awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle among kids now, we hope not only to encourage families to make important lifestyle changes today – but also hope to improve the future health of the nation”.
“Our experience with Vitality has shown us that in order to encourage people to make those changes, you need a strong incentive – and that’s where the partnership with Ster-Kinekor Theatres is so crucial”, Nossel said.
Each child will get their own Ster-Kinekor Vitality movie card, which entitles them to free movies until the end of 2009. Ster-Kinekor’s CRM Manager, Elizabeth Lee Ming, said:
“By helping to reward children who adopt regular health monitoring as an integral part of their lifestyle, Ster-Kinekor Theatres hopes to promote wellness among youth. What’s more, we’re thrilled to be giving them a free window into the world of adventure, action, fantasy and fun that the cinema experience offers.”
The free Ster-Kinekor movie benefit is not Vitality’s only reward for kids who take care of their health.
Children whose parents take them for the specified health check-ups or complete an online children's wellness assessment will be entered into a lucky draw that could see the whole family jetting off to
Discovery World for the holiday of a lifetime. Plus, kids qualify for a discount of up to 70% on Apple iPod Shuffles, depending on their family's Vitality status and the number of kid's health check-ups and online assessments they and their parents complete.
