About Cobiax
The Cobiax technology allows an integrated concrete slab construction for long spans without beams which is a requisite to realise an increased sustainability of the building value while at the same time savig resources by reducing:
- ceilings
- concrete
- reinforcement
- formwork
Void plastic formers are placed between the upper and lower static reinforcement of a concrete slab. They displace concrete in zones where it has no structural benefit. The result is a floor that weighs up to 35% less compared to solid slabs of equivalent dimensions and imposed loads.

The primary benefits of the Cobiax system are:
- large spans are achieved with fewer columns
- the soffit of the slab is flat and constructed with normal flat-slab formwork
- the deflection of slabs as well as loads on supporting structures are reduced

Going Green
The Cobiax balls are manufactured from recycled plastic and the system complies with the Green Star Rating Tool evaluation on materials thus reducing the impact on the environment. "We also ensure that we use local building materials and local suppliers."
