History
In the early 1950s there weren´t that many golf courses to choose from in Cape Town and even fewer that did not discriminate on religious or ethnical grounds.
Founded in 1956 as a golf and country club, King David Golf Club has a colourful history and an extremely bright future ahead of it. Bob Grimsdel , the leading golf course architect of the day was commissioned to design an 18 hole championship course which to this day is rated as one of the finest layouts in South Africa. Bob Grimsdel was also responsible for such gems as :

The championship 18 hole course is complimented by superb practice facilities. A wonderful practice range that can accommodate 50 players allows players to test all their skills whether they are pitching to the target greens or unleashing a driver. King David boasts two putting greens as well as a bunkered short game area making the club a firm favourite with Tour pros looking to sharpen their game.
Our halfway house offers sumptuous snacks and light meals as well as refreshments. Our wonderful ladies in the halfway house will serve you great food and genuine hospitality during your round of golf . Our wide selection of freshly prepared delights are legendary
The bar and lounge is the perfect place to enjoy a post round drink. Stocked with a great selection of both local and imported beers and spirits as well as some truly superb South Africa wines we cater for all tastes. Our legendary bar man Steve `Wonder` ably supported by his team will make you feel right at home. In the summer there is nothing better than enjoying a sundowner on the terrace after the game.
