INDUTEC: A Springboard into Africa

Africa’s growing appeal as a business destination is attracting a wave of regional and international companies looking for new business on the continent. Leading industrial manufacturers will be heading for INDUTEC this year; the influential 10-events-in-one SA Industry and Technology Fair, which takes place from 20-22 May 2015 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.


The LPG industry – a solution to SA’s energy poverty crisis?

The benefits of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as an alternative to traditional biofuels have been widely documented. LPG is a safe, reliable and cost-effective alternative to conventional power supply – for both domestic and industrial use – yet only 3% of South Africans are currently using it as an additional source of energy. How can we increase LPG usage in the broader community and in so doing, help address South Africa’s energy poverty issues?


Energy-optimized construction solutions from Bavaria

At the World Design Capital 2014, Bavaria showed how design has had a positive impact on their citizens and shared stories through installations, films, lectures and conventional exhibits. These included examples of public/private collaborations and innovations; urban planning and renewal; sustainable solutions for housing, agriculture, energy and climate change; public sector responses to urbanisation; and community building and social cohesion within burgeoning cities.

The City of Cape Town, through this year has highlighted the role of design in solving social, cultural, environmental and economic challenges, and will have a digitally interactive exhibition giving visitors different views and perspectives of the city on a giant floor exhibit.
