Get out of the engine room and onto the bridge of your business

Are you doing all the heavy lifting, day in and out, to get your business built to its next level?

If we use the analogy that building a business is like sailing a ship, consider these elements of both:

  • A clear destination, which we believe should include a profitable exit for you, the business owner
  • A hull that is built for purpose, depending on what your ship does and where it is headed.
  • A crew that is capacitated and co-ordinated so that everyone knows what to do, when and how.
  • There is an engine room, which enables forward propulsion
  • There is a bridge, which is responsible for navigation and direction

If you think about your business as a ship, are all of these elements present and working together? And where are you spending the majority of your time – on the Bridge or in the Engine Room?

As the business owner you need to build your business so that forward propulsion happens without your constant involvement, to get you out of the engine room and up onto the bridge. There you can identify and harness the trends, opportunities and behaviours that will accelerate your growth.

Join Aurik co-founder and CEO, Pavlo Phitidis on 14th July at 1pm for a 45 minute discussion on how to build your business so that you can get out of the engine room. There’ll also be optional breakaway rooms to discuss growth, scale or exit.
