Museum meets rugby

If you hate museums and have no interest in rugby, then you’re exactly the kind of visitor The Springbok Experience Rugby Museum most enjoy receiving.

Because we specialise in conversions,” the museum said. “Yes, it’s about rugby and yes, it is a museum but that’s like saying that a Ferrari is a petrol-driven machine designed to transport people from Point A to Point B – it hardly scratches the surface.”

The Springbok Experience Rugby Museum said it has a 95% approval rating on TripAdvisor and is certain that, “no one walks out without thinking, Wow, I wasn’t expecting a Ferrari! We were even nominated for the International Museum of the Year award at the UK’s Museum + Heritage Awards in 2014.”

So what can you expect? A two-storey visitor attraction that has something for everyone, delivering a technology-driven “wow” experience for visitors, combining iconic objects, interactive games and a rich audio-visual component to tell our story.

For those wishing to host corporate launches or team building events, the museum offers an exclusive “Night at the Museum” and a unique stop-off point for ‘amazing race’ events, functions, product launches or award ceremonies. It also has a lawn fronting the museum for larger corporate events in Cape Town. There is also the ubiquitous Museum shop, a dedicated flagship Springbok retail store, selling popular ranges from team apparel to the SA Rugby “Lifestyle” range.

The museum is open 7 days a week from 10h00 until 18h00, with last entry at 17h30. Springbok Experience is a great indoor attraction, for conference delegates on “day off” in the Waterfront.
