Diesel Electric Services (Pty) Ltd has been involved in the design, manufacture, delivery, installation, commissioning, service, maintenance and associated repairs of Turnkey Power Infrastructure Solutions in Cape Town since inception in 1993.
As the installation basis has grown, the need was noted to implement local foot print development with Cape Town based installation and service capability.
Diesel Electric Services is product agnostic, with speciality of scope from medium voltage consumer substation connections to large power distribution on low voltage.
The power solutions include, but is not limited to industrial plants, process plants, commercial developments, data centre applications and financial institutes. This includes for the design and implementation in Greenfield sites as well as infrastructure upgrades in existing facilities, taking into consideration the importance of uptime to the end user.
Load testing includes for the supply of either reactive load banks or resistive load banks or, in some instances a combination of both.
In house capability include for regulatory approval associated with environmental impact assessments as well as fire department registration. To assist with the local requirement with regards to regulatory approvals, an in-house fuel containment system was development which varies between a two hour and four hour fire rating. This is engineered in accordance to client specific requirements.
Staff employment consists of 550 full-time staff, separated into many teams, and managed by competent supervisors and managers, i.e. Sales, Contracting, Manufacturing, Installations, and Technical Support etc. This ensures a first-class, quick and reliable response to any possible client request or need.
The service department boast a staff compliment of 71 field technicians and 22 employees to assist them with the administrative side fully conversant in pastel and issuing of quotations.
Manufacturing facility is in the excess of 50,000 square meters of working space. At present there are two panel shops where manufacturing is taking place in excess of 8,500 square meters. These panel shops are fully equipped for basic sheet metal work, busbar bending and in house programming of different control interface solutions offered to customers.
Diesel Electric Services Conventional Distribution Board design (from Form 1 to Form 4) has been approved by NETFA as fully type tested to IEC 60439-1 and 61439-1, and furthermore, specially type tested to a 70kA fault rating on both the main busbars and distribution busbars. It is to understand that D.E.S. is the only board manufacturer to have successfully tested to this rating on both sets of busbars.
The CIDB creditation includes for an 8EB, 8EP (Electrical) and 7ME (Mechanical) CIDB rating, proving excellent abilities to perform in the industry, and currently the process of applying for an 8ME rating testimony to our mechanical capabilities and associated achievements.
