This morning access to the Capemail Mail Centre was blocked for a short time as some casual workers took their labour disputes to the streets.

Business customers were warned not to send drivers through to the centre as the police and management were “in discussion with the striking workers.”

Martie Gilchrist, spokesperson for the Post Office told Cape Business News, “This happened early this morning and was some of our casual employees. There is now access to the mail centre and customers are free to come through.”

She went on to say that the dispute is with a small number of employees and the matter was being sorted out at management level.
