SMEC South Africa once again proved their mettle by emerging as the winners – for the second year in a row – of the Infrastructure Development and Maintenance category of the 2018 National Business Awards.

This award recognises organisations involved in innovative, sustainable and efficiency-enhancing infrastructure development and maintenance. The scope of the category includes development and maintenance of roads and railways, ports, energy, water and sanitation, housing, access to basic services, healthcare and education. SMEC South Africa was recognised for exemplary social and environmental contributions through their excellence of service, commitment to customers, ethical behaviour and environmental sustainability.

The November 15th awards evening was a glittering affair held at Emperors Palace in Gauteng. Representing SMEC South Africa at the awards were some of the company’s top management, including, Bongani Mthombeni-Möller (Strategic Business Development Executive) and Arijit Mookerjee (Finance Director Africa) seen holding the certificate, CEO Kostas Rontiris and Kresen Manicum (Regional Manager, KZN), seen holding the trophy.
