In a sea of bad economic forecasts and pessimistic predictions, there is light shining at the end of one tunnel – that’s the success of franchising which, despite the odds, has held its own year-on-year in every respect – from showing long-term sustainability to showing a high level of optimism for the future.
In line with the global trend of franchising having a high success rate of around 90% and only a 10% failure ratecompared to independent businesses where the failure rate can often be as high as 90%, the Franchise Association of South Africa’s franchisee survey showed that the business format of franchising lends itself to collaborations which is a good formula for success. From being 80% happy with their franchisors, 73% satisfied with suppliers and 72% happy with their landlords, and with optimism about the future at 72%, franchising is certainly alive, well and thriving. What better endorsement can one have to take that step to being your own boss then the success of franchisees that make up the backbone of the sector.
The International Franchise Expo, brought to you by the Franchise Association of South Africa, provides visitors with not only a platform of over 100 franchise and business opportunities to choose from but also plays a role in making sure that all the help and advice is available when you visit the IFE.
