“Cape Town is one of the cities that has been defined as the destination city for driving innovation and growth,” says Councillor Garreth Bloor for Tourism, Events and Economic Development at the City of Cape Town.
Bloor feels that the short and long term outlook for Cape Town is looking great. He feels the city is ready to be the gateway into Africa.
“My vision for the business sector is to ensure that there is a maximum-enabling environment for them to continue driving growth. There are some key sector where we know there are competitive advantages such as tourism, oil and gas, business process, outsourcing, services and film industry,”
Bloor added.
“One of the reasons we were the New York Times’ ‘Best City in the World to Visit’ was not just from a tourism perspective but also from citing the creative industry. Including the talent and the people that helped define this destination beyond its tourism brand.”
